Ezrion's Journy Through Hell

[Ezrion Alexander]

Ezrion woke on a outcropping of rock surrounded by water as far as he could see.
He stood up and then noticed the figure standing at the water's edge with his back turned. "Excuse me where am I?" Ezrion asked the man. The man turned and Ezrion saw the face of his long dead brother, Simon.

Simon walked over to Ezrion and placed his hands on his shoulders. He opened his mouth to speak, but only blood bubbled out of his mouth. He began shaking uncontrollably in Ezrion's arms before a high pitched screach could be heard."YOU COUNLD'NT SAVE ME BROTHER! AND FOR THAT YOU SHALL SUFFER!"

"I did my best," Ezrion pleaded with the spirit through his sobs. "And I promise you I will fix this. I promise!" With that his vision faded and he collasped to the ground.

Ninth circle: Treachery

Ezrion once again woke on the stone column only this time he was in a large cavern, so large in fact that he could not discern where the walls of the cavern were located. He also noticed a stone walkway leading off into the distance. He approached it cautiously and took a step onto the path. The moment his feet were planted onto the walkway the stone platform sunk beneath the surface of the water. "Well no going back that way," he said to himself as he continued down the trail.

As he walked he heard a splashing sound to his left and a man with a squid head emerged from the water onto the path in front of him carrying a fishing spear. Ezrion took a step back but was blocked by another squidman. The forward squidman tripped Ezrion with his spear causing him to fall into the water. Once Ezrion had fallen into the water both squidman dove into the water and dragged Ezrion down.

Ezrion struggled and broke free of his captures, but before he could swim to safety he heard a sound that caused him to look down. At an oucropping of stone below him three sea-maidens were being tortured and abused by a trio of squidman. So Ezrion swam down to their aid only to have them reach up and grab him and drag him into a cage hidden behind them. He looked over at his captures to see them change into hideous sea hags.

Ezrion opened a gap in the cage using all the strength he could muster and swam up to the pathway lights popping in his eyes. Once he had reached the walkway he pulled himself onto it and lay on his back taking in many grateful lungfuls of air. As he got to his feet he noticed a rope ladder made entirely of seaweed and moss. The mossy parts gave out under his weight but the seaweed help allowing him to climb up to the next circle.
